Community Service & Mentorship

Empowering Students to Serve their Community

The Table Spread Food Pantry

At the Academy, we believe in nurturing the potential of our students and empowering them to make a difference in their communities. With the highest poverty rate in the nation and a significant number of residents facing food insecurity, the students of our Academy in Memphis, TN took the lead in addressing this pressing issue.  To tackle this problem, students played an active leadership role in the process of expanding the Midtown Mosque’s pantry capacity through a partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank and the opening of "The Table Spread". Students volunteer monthly distributing food at Midtown Mosque and Masjid Al-Muminoon food pantries.

Ayisha Anwara Community Garden

The Ayisha Anwara Community Garden is a beacon of hope, addressing food security head-on by cultivating a renewable source of nutritious produce. Our dedicated students have taken up the mantle, meticulously tending to the garden's every need. From planting seeds to harvesting bountiful crops, they are the driving force in helping to provide access to fresh fruits and vegetables for our community, empowering those living in a food desert.

Serving Communities Nationally

Miraaj Academy is on a mission to tackle food insecurity in North Memphis and is working closely with other non-profit organizations to make a difference. Our focus is on serving those who need it the most, including the homeless, seniors, refugees, and families who are struggling to make ends meet. With your support, we can provide nutritious meals to those who are in dire need, and help build a healthier, happier community. Join us in our cause and be a part of the solution!
