Engaging the Senses in Memorizing the Quran

  • Listening
    Listening

    Students listen attentively to the teacher so they can write down the new ayah. Students memorize it in the short term, making long-term memorization easier.

  • Reading
    Reading

    Creates a unique image of the handwritten words in the student's mind, making it easier to memorize. They see their handwriting just like the Sahabah of the Prophet(ﷺ) did.

  • Writing
    Writing

    Students must be keen to write the ayah down accurately, activating a part of the brain that takes in information through touch and movement.

  • Reciting
    Reciting

    Since the teacher hears each phrase students recite and corrects them, students learn to recite each word to the teacher accurately.
